The Anise Myrtle is a native species found in subtropical rain forest of Northern N.S.W. The leaves have a strong liquorice and aniseed flavour that is sweet and cooling on the palate. It is rich in antioxidants and vitamin C. It was traditionally used for weight loss and to ease stomach complaints.
