Prostate Pro contains lycopene, zinc and selenium, antioxidants that reduce free radicals formed in the body.

• Vaccinium macrocarpon (Cranberry) fruit powder (Flowens™) 250mg
• Conifer phytosterol complex (Phytopin®) 130mg (equiv. sitosterol (beta-sitosterol) 91mg)
• Lycopene 2mg
• Selenomethionine equiv. selenium 50 micrograms
• Zinc amino acid chelate equiv. zinc 10mg

Adults: Take 1 tablet daily, with food, or as directed by your health professional.

Does not contain egg, milk, peanut, soy, tree nuts, animal products, gluten, lactose or artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

WARNINGS:

This product contains selenium which is toxic in high doses. A daily dose of 150 micrograms for adults of selenium from dietary supplements should not be exceeded. Vitamin and mineral supplements should not replace a balanced diet.

DRUG INTERACTIONS:

Caution with warfarin - selenium may increase blood thinning effect and a theoretical interaction with Cranberry is possible. Monitor INR.

Caution with high dose vitamin E or beta-carotene supplements - beta-sitosterols can decrease absorption of these nutrients. Separate dose by at least 2 hours.

Caution with drugs that reduce fat absorption (Orlistat, cholestyramine, colestipol) - these drugs may also reduce the absorption of lycopene. Separate dose by 2 hours.

Caution with NSAIDs, cefalexin, penicillamine and tetracycline and quinolone antibiotics - zinc interferes with their absorption. Separate dose by 3 hours.

Caution with immunosuppressant drugs - selenium may theoretically interfere with immunosuppressant therapy due to its immunostimulant activity.

Caution with eltrombopag - selenium may reduce drug absorption. Separate dose by 4 hours.

Caution with amiloride (diuretic) - drug can reduce zinc excretion, leading to zinc accumulation.

Caution with concurrent use with calcium supplements - zinc competes for common intestinal absorption sites. Separate dose by at least 2 hours.

CAUTIONS:

If urinary symptoms become more severe while on this product, or if pain or irritation persists for more than 48 hours, medical advice is recommended. The presence of blood in the urine warrants immediate medical attention.

SIDE EFFECTS:

None noted at the recommended dose.
