DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Caution with hypoglycaemic medications and insulin - GlucoPlex may have additive effects. Monitor.
Caution with warfarin - ALA has reduced platelet reactivity in vitro, uncertain whether the effect is clinically significant.
Caution with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs - Fenugreek may have additive effects, increasing the risk of bruising and bleeding.
Caution with thyroxine - ALA may suppress the conversion of thyroxine to active T3 form and chromium can reduce thyroxine absorption. Separate dose by 3 hours.
Caution with calcium channel blockers - vitamin D may reduce the effectiveness of these drugs.
Caution with digoxin - vitamin D can elevate serum calcium levels, which increases the risk of cardiac arrhythmias with digoxin. Monitor calcium levels.
Caution with thiazide diuretics - when taken in conjunction with vitamin D, can increase the risk of hypercalcaemia. Monitor serum calcium levels during concurrent use.
Caution with cholestyramine or colestipol (lipid-lowering medication) and orlistat - these drugs may reduce the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, including vitamin D. Take one hour before, or 4-6 hours after drug.
Caution with NSAIDs, cefalexin, penicillamine and tetracycline and quinolone antibiotics - zinc forms complexes with these drugs, interfering with absorption. Separate dose by 3 hours.
Caution with iron supplements - Fenugreek and zinc can interfere with iron absorption. Separate dose by 2 hours.
Caution with copper and manganese supplementation - ALA can bind to minerals. Separate dose by 3 hours.
