Berberine ImmunoPlex is standardised to contain 109.26mg of berberine per tablet. Berberine is the primary active constituent responsible for the pharmacological activity of Phellodendron and Barberry.

Barberry is traditionally used in Western herbal medicine to support liver health and digestive system health and relieve symptoms of indigestion.

Berberine ImmunoPlex contains Cat's Claw, to support healthy immune system function, and Thyme, traditionally used in Western herbal medicine to reduce excess mucous and relieve cough and symptoms of sore throat.

• Phellodendron amurense (Phellodendron) stem bark extract 424mg (derived from dry stembark minimum 4.24, stand. to contain berberine 101.76mg)
• Berberis vulgaris (Barberry) stem bark extract 75mg (derived from dry stem bark minimum 750mg, stand. to contain berberine 7.5mg)
• Uncaria tomentosa (Cat's claw) stem bark extract 375mg (derived from dry stem bark 1.5g)
• Handroanthus impetiginosus (Pau d'arco) inner stem bark extract 75mg (derived from dry inner stem bark 750mg)
• Thymus vulgaris (Thyme) leaf extract 125mg (derived from dry leaf 500mg)

Adults and children over 12 years: Take 1 tablet, twice daily, with food, or as directed by your health professional.

Does not contain egg, milk, peanut, soy, tree nuts, animal products, gluten, lactose or artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

DRUG INTERACTIONS:

Contraindicated with cyclosporine - berberine can reduce the metabolism and increase serum levels of cyclosporine.

Caution with hypoglycemic medications - berberine can lower blood glucose levels. Monitor blood sugar levels.

Caution with immunosuppressants - Cat's claw may interfere with immunosuppressants due to immunostimulating activity.

Caution with anticoagulant medication - Pau d'arco and Thyme may have antiplatelet activity.

CAUTIONS:

Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation - Pau d'arco may cause foetal damage and berberine can cross the placenta and may cause harm to the foetus and stimulate uterine contractions. Berberine can also pass through the breast milk.

May increase the risk of bleeding. Discontinue use 2 weeks prior to surgery.

Thyme can cause allergic reactions in some individuals.
