Unlike coffee that gives you a quick energy spike and releases the stress hormone cortisol, matcha provides a steady and sustained energy boost throughout the day. It has around 70 milligrams of caffeine, as opposed to 100 milligrams in a regular-sized black coffee, and it releases the caffeine over a longer period of time. DRINK HOT

TAKE a scoop (1/2 tsp) of Matcha powder and place in your drinking bowl or large cup.

Note: the bigger the scoop, the stronger the brew. Start at ¼ teaspoon then adjust according to your taste.

FILL your drinking bowl or cup with hot water 80 °C / 176 °F.

WHISK matcha and hot water with your bamboo whisk, until you start to see the froth. It is now ready to drink.

CUP the bowl in your hands before bringing it to your mouth to sip + enjoy.

NOTES + INSPIRATION

Use your choice of milk in place of water to make a delicious matcha latte - we love pumpkin seed milk. Sweeten to taste with a little honey.

DRINK COLD
