ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ Curcumin is generally well tolerated at normal therapeutic doses. Gastrointestinal adverse effects have been reported in some individuals. PEA is very well tolerated, with no adverse effects reported in studies.
ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ curcumin is contraindicated in bile duct obstruction. Curcumin should be used with caution in patients with gallstones and gallbladder disease, as it can cause gallbladder contractions.
ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ Caution is advised with use of curcumin in patients undergoing surgery due to therorectical increased risk of bleeding.
ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ The safety of intake of therapeutic doses of curcumin and PEA in pregnancy & lactation has not been established.
ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ PEA has been used with apparent safety in doses of up to 1400mg daily for up to 3 months in adults.
